In anticipation of the seventh Global Whisky Auction, we would like to highlight some of our favourites bottles that will be going under the hammer. We have bottles from all over the whisky world which we know will satisfy many whisky cravings.
Starting with the Islay region, we have some gems like the Lagavulin 16-Year-Old White Horse bottling, bottled in the late 1980’s. A cracker of a dram you don’t want to miss out on. We also have another 1980’s bottling this time from Laphroaig, this being the highly prized 10 y/o pre- Royal Warrant bottling.
Bowmore Distillery is known for its wonderful 1960’s distillations and we have an absolute beauty in the 1965 sherry cask matured Full Strength edition. Bottled at a cask strength of 50% vol. this was bottled for the Italian market. One final bottling from Islay comes in the form of the Bruichladdich ‘Final Act of Creation’ which is a Chateau Latour cask matured 23-year-old whisky. This bottling marks the final bottling from former Master Distiller Jim McEwan and with only 220 bottles released this is already a very rare bottle.
The great old Speyside distillery of Glen Grant also features in our up-coming Global Whisky Auction with two bottles of 1956 distillation bottled by Gordon & MacPhail. This whisky was bottled in 2006 and would certainly be a great addition to any whisky collection.
There are also bottles from the Highland region which deserve a mention. The Glenmorangie Last Christmas at Leith bottling. Bottled to mark Glenmorangie's 'Last Christmas at Leith' the company had been in the Leith premises since 1893. Only 220 bottles released and were given to employees at the time in 1995.
